One of those maintenance tasks would be tire rotation. So let me go over the reasons why it is extremely important to get your tires rotated:

Wear tires evenly. Many of us in the car business feel like the tires are the most important part of your vehicle. They are the four elements connecting your car to the road. So if they’re in bad shape, you could be in big trouble—probably sooner, rather than later. Have you ever had a tire blow out in the middle of I95? It’s very scary and can make it really tough to handle your vehicle properly. When a technician rotates your tires, it alters their previous position on your car, which gives your tires the chance to wear evenly. Some cars wear tires more in the front, for instance. During a tire rotation, a tech could switch them to the rear position, which would give them a much-needed break.

Extend the life of your tires. Rotating your tires gives them a longer life, because they’ll get worn down at a slower rate. Think about it—if your car wears down the front tires more, then those tires will wear down completely if they don’t get the break that comes with a tire rotation. So you’ll have to replace them early and before your rear tires need to be replaced. To save yourself from having to waste money on constantly purchasing new tires, get them rotated frequently.

Check your manual for precise directions, but the rule of thumb is to rotate them every 6,000 miles or every other oil change. When you bring your car in for a tire rotation, it gives your technician the chance to do an all-over inspection of your car. While the tires are off, the tech can examine your brakes and rotors. The tech can also take a close look at your tires to see if any nails are stuck in them or if the tread is getting too low. Basically, it’s just an added safety measure that could prolong the life of your car.
